Standard Terms and Conditions.

Acceptance of Terms. These terms and conditions constitute a part of the contract between AOA STUDIOS and Client. Different or additional terms and conditions which may be included in Client’s purchase order or other acceptance of this quotation are hereby rejected unless approved in writing by the president of AOA STUDIOS Retaining, hiring, or booking time with AOA STUDIOS constitutes full acceptance of these terms.

Changes in Specifications & Cancellation. After acceptance of this quotation no changes by Client in the specifications will be binding on AOA STUDIOS unless AOA STUDIOS consents to such changes in writing. Additional charges for accepted changes will be billed to Client. Client must pay 50% deposit to secure their booking, and pay the remaining balance at the conclusion of their session or project. Client may cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours in advance of their scheduled session, otherwise Client deposit will not be refunded. Cancellations made within 24 hours of session will not be honored.

Data Storage & Materials. Unless specified in writing, data storage is at Client’s risk and may be released upon final payment.

Terms of Payment. Due to the subjective nature of audio production, Client acknowledges that AOA STUDIOS obligation is limited to the act of recording, mixing, mastering, or processing the Client s audio. In the event of dispute, AOA STUDIOS contractual obligations are considered to be fulfilled in full by the act of processing. Submission of processed files, via FTP, web, or physical medium, shall constitute acceptance for purposes of contract fulfillment.

Default. If Client defaults in payment of any invoice at due date, or in the event of any proceeding in bankruptcy or insolvency by or against Client, AOA STUDIOS in addition to any right it has, shall have the right: (a) to suspend or discontinue work until it has received payment in full for work performed; (b) to require cash in advance to cover further work; (c) to collect late charges of 1 1/2% per month from due date; and/or (d) to recover all costs of collection, including reasonable attorney’s fees. In the event credit or financial ability of Client becomes impaired or unsatisfactory in the sole reasonable judgment of AOA STUDIOS, AOA STUDIOS shall have the right at any time thereafter to change the credit terms with respect to any further work under this quotation.

Use of Audio. Unless specified in writing, Client grants AOA STUDIOS the right to use Client audio for marketing purposes, including, but not limited to sample CDs, internet play systems, or other methods.

Remedies. In the event AOA STUDIOS takes any action to enforce the terms of this Agreement and/or collect payment, Customer hereby agrees to pay all costs incurred in connection therewith, including, without limitation, all reasonable attorneys’ fees, expenses, and court costs incurred by AOA STUDIOS in its sole discretion. Customer further agrees that exclusive jurisdiction and venue for any claim arising out of or under the terms of this Agreement shall be in a state court of competent jurisdiction in Essex County, Massachusetts, and Customer hereby submits to the jurisdiction and venue of such court.

Payment Terms and Conditions.

We are a smoke free facility. Smoking of any kind must be done outside the premises.

Request that don't have deposits at the end of their hold period will be considered cancelled.

A minimum of 50% the session total will be required as a deposit before the beginning of each Service

Payment for masters is due upfront.

Payments can be made via cash, credit card, check, PayPal (aoastudiosgroup@gmail.com), Venmo (aoastudios), or CashApp ($aoastudiosbeverly)

Cancellations with 24+ hours notice receive studio credit

Cancellations inside of 24 hours of session will forfeit deposit

All services are payable when rendered.

No masters, drives, or data can be released without payment in full.

We are not responsible for materials, gear, or recordings left on our premises (unless other arrangements are made, restoration clients excluded).

Two revisions are included in pricing. Any more after there is a fee

All additional materials including printouts, CDs, shipping costs, etc. are all billable to client

Data Archive Policy.

Data files or tapes cannot be released if there is an outstanding studio balance.

AOA SOUNDS is not required to keep a back up of tapes or data once the final product is released to the client.

Archives can include ProTools session files and appropriate audio files.

Exports or file conversions may be billed at regular studio hourly rates.

Engineer’s notes remain the property of AOA SOUNDS

File Share Instructions.

Occasionally, we may require you to send files to us for sessions or mastering. When sharing files with us, our preferred sharing system is WeTransfer. An account isn’t required, however, WeTransfer will send you a security code as an extra step prior to transferring files. Also, please note that WeTransfer will automatically delete the transfer after 4 weeks, so please send the files no earlier than 4 weeks before necessary. To send files using WeTransfer, please use the following instructions:

  1. Go to wetransfer.com on your preferred browser and log in to your account if applicable.

  2. Either drag and drop the necessary files onto the page to upload, or select “Add files”.

  3. Once the files have been selected, enter your email for Your Email, and enter your name plus the project name in the Title field. For example, it should look something like “AOA SOUNDS - Album Mastering”. Include any other necessary info in the Message field.

  4. After everything has been filled in, click “Send”.

If necessary, Dropbox can be used as a secondary option, however, free accounts have a 2GB storage limit. To send files using Dropbox, please use the following instructions:

  1. On your computer, batch all of the necessary files into a single folder and compress/zip it. This is done by right clicking on the folder and selecting “Compress” (Mac) or “Create zip” (Windows).

  2. Open Dropbox on your preferred browser and log in to your account. If you don’t have an account, you are able to make one for free.

  3. From the home page, click “Upload” near the top left of the page, and select “Folder”. Select the applicable zip folder then click “Upload”.

  4. Once the file has been uploaded, it should be visible from the home page. Click the checkmark to the left of the folder, and then click “Share” on the right of the page.

  5. Enter “aoasounds@gmail.com” for the email, then click “Share Folder”.

We prefer either WeTransfer or Dropbox for sending files but if necessary, we will accept Google Drive. If you are sending files larger than 2GB, please use WeTransfer as Google Drive will divide the file into multiple downloads and we may miss files this way. If sending files through Google Drive, please use the following instructions:

  2. Open Google Drive on your preferred browser and log in if necessary. If you don’t have a Google account, you are able to make one for free.

  4. Once the file has been uploaded, you should see a confirmation in the bottom right corner of the screen. Click on the confirmation popup.

  5. You should be taken to a screen showing the contents of the folder. Click the three vertical dots in the top right corner of the screen, then select “Share”.

  6. Enter “aoasounds@gmail.com” for the email, then click “Done”.
